Impressions of a New School Year

  • I love, love, love, that I am I walking distance from BYU.  It's so nice - I don't have to drive my car a mile and then walk another mile to get to campus.  I'm two blocks away. However, there is a huge hill I need to walk up everyday to get to campus.  By the time I get up that huge hill, I'm sweaty and out of breath.  On the upside, though, if I have to climb this every day, I'm going to get toned in my legs and hopefully lose a few pounds!
  • After waiting in line for one hour and fifteen minutes, I am now an official BYU employee.  I'm all set to work at the Testing Center :)  Yay!  It's going to be a breeze.
  • I feel really intimidated by my Italian class, although the professor tells us it's easy if we keep up on the readings and participate in class.  (Oh my goodness, he is super cute.  He's only 22 years old, and he speaks fluent Italian.  Yeah, I should have no problem paying attention in that class.)
  • My English Language class should be interesting.  The professor is an old guy with a really dry sense of humor, and he likes to talk a lot.  I don't have a problem with this since I like dry senses of humor and I like to listen.  He seems like a funny guy, so I'm hoping it's not boring and I can grasp the concept matter.
Two new classes tomorrow I still need to experience, but overall, I have a good feeling about this year.  Let's just hope it stays with me through the majority of the semester.

Good News

I found my camera.  :)

Oh my goodness...

It's been so crazy lately!  Sorry about the lack of blogging, but honestly, there's been nothing to blog about.  This week is going to be a very eventful week though.

  • I've been packing and getting ready to move.  I hate moving; it takes too much work.
  • I'm buying the rest of my books (still $200 to spend).
  • Wednesday, I'll officially be back out of the house.  I'm looking forward to new roommates and a new ward :)
  • Thursday is my last day at the AF Robert's (insert Hallelujah chorus here!)  I'll start a new job next Monday, and I will occasionally be working for the Orem store.  Sweeeeeeet!
  • Saturday, I'm going to the zoo with my family - probably our last little family thing together until Disneyland in November.
So yay!  This week should be pretty good :)

I promise I'll think of something creative to do soon.

Favorite Dynamic Duos

Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck

These two have kept me laughing for years.  My favorite is when they are trying to persuade Elmer Fudd that it's either Rabbit Season or Duck Season.  Sigh... Classic.

Lorelai and Rory Gilmore

Lorelai: Kirk asked me out.
Rory: Shut up!
Lorelai: Yesterday.
Rory: That's so sweet!
Lorelai: Rory!
Rory: What are you gonna wear? Ooh, you should wear your dress with the ponies on it, I bet he likes ponies.
Lorelai: You're not serious.
Rory: I bet you'll have a good time.
Lorelai: "Hello, headmaster Charleston, this is my stepdad, Kirk. Try not to make any sudden movements, he's a fear biter!"
Rory: OK, so how are you gonna let him down?

Bert and Ernie

Ernie: Come on Bert, what kind of movie has a sad ending?
Bert: Titanic. Titanic had a sad ending.

Batman and Robin

Holy hole in the donut, Batman!

Shawn and Gus

Receptionist: There is a Lt. Crunch here to see you.
Burton 'Gus' Guster: Crunch?
Shawn Spencer: [enters, dressed in a Civil War uniform] Actually, I've been promoted. It's Captain Crunch.
